Angkor Wat: Grand Circuit and Small Circuit

When visiting Angkor Wat you will be presented with a number of tour options for visiting the numerous temples across the site. Two of the most popular tour options are the Grand Circuit and Small Circuit. In a nutshell touring the Grand Circuit and Small Circuit will allow you to hit all of the “can’t miss” sites.  The Grand Circuit will take you to temples that are on the outer edge of the park, while the Small Circuit takes you to the main temples like Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom.  If you only have one day to go on...

Angkor Wat

Angkor Wat has been at the top of our bucket list for a while now, and we were super stoked out to finally get a chance to experience the temple in person.  In fact, checking off Angkor Wat from our bucket list was the main reason why we decided to travel to Southeast Asia this Summer. Arriving in Cambodia

Arriving in Cambodia After spending four wonderful nights in Malaysia it was time to head off to Cambodia. We were super stoked out to visit the country, especially Siem Reap–the home of the infamous Angkor Wat. Visiting Cambodia can be very easy with a U.S. passport. You just need to make sure to plan ahead and obtain your E-Visa beforehand to make the arrival process eazy-breezy (smooth and seamless). We chose to fly to Siem Reap because there are many low cost carriers in Southeast Asia, making the plane ride affordable. It is also quicker and safer than entering...

It’s hard to tell when looking at them, but the footprint of each of the towers is based on Islamic geometric forms and create an eight pointed star. Getting to see them first-hand was an incredible experience. They are so tall that they could almost touch the heavens. I remember seeing the Petronas Towers in the Hollywood blockbuster movie Entrapment starring Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta-Jones. The architecture was so cool and made me want to go there. I imagined playing a...

Supertree Grove At The Gardens By The Bay

I’m sure that when you think of Singapore you picture the Supertree Grove, or if you are like me, that really cool tree thing that lights up and looks like it came from a sci-fi movie.  The Supertree Grove can be found at the Marina Bay Sands Gardens by the Bay. There are daily light shows that run twice a night at 7:45 pm and 8:45 pm and are definitely worth the visit. For S$8, or included with your annual pass (see our post on the Cloud Forest to find out more), you can get up close and personal...
